CONNEPEF is officially recognized and authorized under Law No. 90/53 of 19 December 1990 relating to the freedom of association. The foundation was formally acknowledged by the Senior Divisional Officer of Meme Division in Kumba, South West Region, granting us legal standing to operate and serve communities with transparency and accountability. This legal recognition strengthens our credibility and reflects our commitment to structured, responsible, and impactful community development.

Mr. Kema Nsong Thomas was born in Barombi Kang in Kumba, Cameroon. He began his early education at St. Anthony Primary School in Kumba before proceeding to Presbyterian Secondary School in Bisongabang and later Presbyterian High School. He continued his academic journey at the University of Buea. In the year 2000, he travelled abroad, living in Switzerland, Holland, France, Belgium, and later Canada before returning to Cameroon. These experiences exposed him to different systems, cultures, and levels of development, broadening his perspective on community growth and sustainable progress.
After returning home, Mr. Thomas became deeply moved by the realities facing many communities, especially the lack of reliable electricity, limited opportunities for vulnerable children, and the everyday struggles of underserved families. Rather than remain a concerned observer, he chose to take responsibility. This conviction led to the establishment of Connecting People Foundation as a structured platform to serve and uplift communities. Grounded in faith, compassion, and practical action, he is committed to promoting sustainable solar energy, community support, and long term empowerment. Through his leadership, CONNEPEF continues to grow as a mission driven organization focused on restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and bringing hope to those who need it most.

We do what we do because we have seen the realities on the ground and we cannot ignore them. In many communities, children struggle to study without light, families live without reliable electricity, and vulnerable individuals lack the basic support needed to live with dignity. These are not distant stories to us. They are everyday experiences within our towns and villages. We believe that no one should be left behind simply because of where they were born or the circumstances they face. Development should be inclusive, practical, and rooted in genuine care for people.
Our work is driven by compassion, responsibility, and the belief that sustainable change is possible when communities are supported in the right way. We focus on solutions that restore hope and create opportunity, whether through solar energy, health awareness, sanitation efforts, or direct support to vulnerable families. We do this because we understand that when one life is empowered, an entire community moves forward. And as long as there are needs around us, we will continue to serve with commitment and purpose.
